Welcome to RACR
RACR a small non-registered rescue in Nottingham who takes in local and some non-local rescue cases ranging from rats, rabbits, mice, dogs, cats and other small furries. Some of the dogs do come from pounds if they are urgent cases of PTS.
All animals and pets that are handed over to RACR are seen by a vet straight away for a health check and any treatment that may be needed. Once given the all clear the vet and neutered and vaccinated. A quarantine/assessment period is set (2 weeks) . They then go up for rehoming which consists of a Pre-Homing Questionnaire, Home Check and an adoption form signed by both the rescue and the Adopter. All dogs, cats and Rabbits will be spayed/nuetered, innoculated and ID chipped before leaving for new homes.
Adoption fees can be seen on the bottom of the adoption procedures page.
RACR is self-funded and have not in the past several years received any funding or donations. However, veterinary treatment is not cheap and, although our vet is great and discounts some fees for the rescue and does not ever refuse to see an animal, the rescue file costs do build up. RACR also have to cover vet costs uk wide where animals in foster homes have seen vets and received treatment. RACR are now starting up some fundraising to help cover veterinary costs. There is a set adoption fee for each animal, please do take this into consideration as we do not give animals out for free! Please feel free to contact me and ask me before hand or see the fees on the next page.
All the work here is currently done by myself and a few volunteers who can spare time. If you would like to help in any way at all, from being a fosterer, transporter, fundraiser, donating any small amount you can, or by spreading the word then please contact
Andrea andrea.cuthbert@btinternet.com or via phone on 05602383367.
On this website you will find animals that have come in to the RACR and gone into a foster home. You will see them up for rehoming and hear their stories and successes. You will find links to other rescues that may be more local to you and forums for each relevant pet/animals for help and support. Fundraisers will also be updated and added as the events go on as will any other info.
